GoEssential visited DMEXCO 2018 – Europe’s leading digital marketing fair
Into its 10th edition, DMEXCO 2018 is celebrating a milestone birthday. With no less than 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries and 550 speakers on 18 stages, DMEXCO is the prime event for decision makers operating in marketing, technology and media, video and gaming. For us at GoEssential, video trends were the most interesting topic. In this blog we pick up a few of the most remarkable ones.
Digital age marketing must again take on responsibility. Dominik Matyka and Philipp Hilbig of Koelnmesse (Cologne Trade Fair) have redesigned Europe’s biggest conference and trade fair for digital marketing and advertising. Their slogan C.A.R.E. (Curiosity, Action, Responsibility, Experience) urges the digital marketing industry to shift the focus back to people.
The industry should take time to reflect: not simply do things just because it’s possible and launch them like an avalanche at the consumer, but act in a targeted and effective way. In brief: take responsibility! Responsibility for content and its successful presentation, but above all for the way in which the industry collects data and subsequently uses it. Because in the digital world, the most important factors for a brand’s success are a focus on the needs of the client, and his or her trust.
